Georgia Tech will return home for Halloween weekend to host North Carolina and NC State in OβKeefe Gymnasium, battling the Tar Heels on Oct. Boston College clapped back with four more points to reach match point, but Tech sullied the Eaglesβ chances of taking a set, using a final four-point rally to claim the set, 26-24, and the match sweep. Tech rallied once more with a five-point run, evening the score at 20 apiece. The Eagles continued to surge up to an 18-12 lead, but the Jackets responded with a three-point run to draw within three. Tech finished out the set in dominant fashion, taking the final five points as Bergmann wrapped up the set with back-to-back kills for a 25-13 second set triumph in favor of the Jackets.Δ«oston College refused to go down without a fight, taking the first lead of the set and hanging on up to a 10-8 advantage. The Jackets increased their lead to seven soon after with three straight points up to a 12-5 advantage, then continued to roll with a four-point run up to lead 20-11. Tech carried its momentum into the second set, using an early five-point burst to take a 9-3 lead. The Eagles managed to knot things up at 15 all, but Georgia Tech pressed on, avoiding trailing for the remainder of the set and jumping on top 20-17 before a Bergmann kill closed out the set for a 25-21 Jacket victory. In a back-and-forth first set early, the Jackets used a three-point run to reach double digits first with a 10-8 lead. Georgia Tech has won 49 of its last 58 matches dating back to 2019. The Yellow Jackets are now a perfect 9-0 in true road matches and 7-0 away from The Flats in ACC play. The third of the βKiller Bβs,β freshman outside hitter Bianca Bertolino had a solid day on the defensive end, leading the team with 13 digs as she also pitched in offensively with four kills and three assists. Junior outside hitter Julia Bergmann reinforced Brambilla on the attack with 16 kills of her own to go with 11 digs and a block assist for her ninth double double this season. Senior outside hitter Mariana Brambilla spearheaded Techβs offense with 20 kills, including a pair of aces, along with eight digs and two blocks (one solo, one assisted) through the contest. McKissock, already the program leader in career assists during the 25-point rally scoring era, was the architect behind the Jacket attack with 41 assists on the day. With the win, the Jackets earned their sixth straight ACC triumph and ninth consecutive true road victory as senior setter Matti McKissock furthered her climb in Georgia Tech history, moving to fourth in career assists in program history with 3,582 to date. 13 Georgia Tech volleyball trounced Boston College (25-21, 25-13, 26-24) on Sunday afternoon in Chestnut Hill, Mass., earning its 10 th sweep of the season, including six over ACC foes.
